Recently had the Chili Spaghetti and Fried Chicken. It is what it says it is. And it's good!Shaka plate is a good standby. If you think there's too much syrup, they can give it to you on the side. And yes, get ice cream in your shave ice, please, you'll thank me.

It's a good place. They have shaved ice here and you can get it with ice cream, which is one of my favorites. The food is pretty good too.I can't give it 5 stars because of the parking. Sorry there isn't that many spaces so you might have trouble parking here. Other than that it's good though.

First time here - service was okay. The girl taking our order was nice but wasn't super friendly. She took our order and everything was fine. Until after about 10 minutes, our order came - They handed me a burger when I had ordered spaghetti. By the time I could tell them that they gave me the wrong food, they had figured out that my food was given to someone else for a to go order. And that guy left already.. with my spaghetti! They fixed the situation by getting me my correct order after another 10 minutes, but they never even apologized for their mistake.

I love their white chicken teriyaki, no other place seems to have it like this!

This the most generic hawaiian food ever. I was expecting higher quality food. One star for low quality bottom line. One star for their chicken salad. The pictures are misleading. In person salad is pale and bland looking. The fried wontons are the stand out. The salad is missing something to tie it together and higher quality iceberg lettuce needed. There was a sign posted in front of register that said... We now add almond slices to salads (no additional charges were indicated). There was no almonds. It will be hard to get me to come in and try the other dishes. I got multiple plates to empress clients because they state it authentic hawaiian. Way below par.

Recently I tried to go twice. Both times they were closed with a small sign on the door saying until further notice. The third and last time I went things were different. The condiments weren't out and the Personnel had changed. I understand that the restaurant changed hands. The food quality was also not anywhere near what it used to be. I won't be coming back.

From the moment you step in that restaurant the waiters give you a pleasant feeling. Very courteous stuff, it is a happy place to hang out with friends or with your date. Excellent meals, talented chief cook and stuff, reasonable price and courteous service. Highly recommended.

I enjoy eating at Shakas. This is my go to place for Hawaiian-Japanese style food. They even serve Hawaiian style shaved ice! I do so love eating their Spam-misubi. I know it's an acquired taste, and I have acquired it. I also enjoy their salmon plate with rice, a scoop of macaroni salad, and tossed salad. If you are health conscious, try their chicken-mango salad. If you miss Hawaii, come for a little piece of Hawaii here in Monterey Park. You won't be disappointed.
